Toyota Land Cruiser 105 Prerunner

Let us introduce you to this Toyota Land Cruiser 105 with an impressing past. In its former life it was fully built to race spec to participate in the last Rally Dakar on African grounds, the 2007 Lisboa-Dakar. After crossing the finish line on the shores of the legendary Lac Rosé it was shipped back home with the rest of the team. Years later its new owner resurrected it from the storage container it was confined in to give it a new life as an adventure and overland vehicle.

After bringing the interior back to civil standards it was time for a suspension makeover. The goal was to achieve a setup with a broader usage range than the competition system it came with but without losing any of the performance. That’s when our experience came into play. We put together a set of 4x4 Proyect 2.65” Prerunner shocks from our custom series as all the original mounts had been modified. Thanks to the improved design we were able to achieve an extra 30% travel reaching a full 12”/300mm front and back. After that we optimized the system’s geometry (caster angle, anti-roll bar placement, adjustable track bars) for a perfect alignment and impecable handling. The final result is something to be proud of. This former Dakar legend starts into its new life with enough comfort to complete long expeditions while conserving all of its race pedigree.
