ICC Flip 90 camping trailer

We all think about uprated suspension systems for our 4x4 vehicles to be able to explore rough terrain and remote areas. But what about offroad trailers? They're the forgotten ones in the suspension world. Camping trailers are becoming more and more sophisticated. Many of them have been turned into real houses on wheels. Keeping in mind all the interior furnishings and delicated equipment they carry on board it really hurts to see them being jolted around offroad trails. As unfiltered impacts and vibrations are transmitted onto these campers it is common to see things get damaged to the point of total breakdown.

When the German camper specialist ICC Offroad started its Flip90 camping trailer project it was clear that it should receive a capable offroad suspension. The trailer should never be the limit when it came to choosing a trail or planning a trip. The ICC crew contacted us to help with the design of the new suspension system. After an exhaustive design and optimization of the system we ended up with a geometry that was robust and reliable and would also allow to change the ride height by more than 100mm without affecting suspension travel. This geometry was then combined with a pair of custom 2.65 Prerunner coilover shock absorbers with Eibach springs. The result is a trailes that remains stable and safe and stable on the road while being capable of traversing extreme terrain at high speeds protecting the camper shell from vobrations and impacts. From the performance side the vehicle towing the trailer is now the limiting factor. We say: mission accomplished!
