DESCRIPTION

www.4x4proyect.com introduces the first high performance shock that will not ruin your 4x4´s comfortable ride. The 4PD-JP001AR shock fits the front right side of 2006 to 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee Wk and Wh series 1 and Commander Xk with Diesel or Petrol engine , this 4x4 Proyect 2.65" Prerunner shock comes packed with racing technology and has been exclusively developed by 4x4 proyect design. Suitable for lifts from 0"-4".

the direct fit design makes it easy to install with no modifications required. It comes standard with digressive self-adjusting digressive valving that adapts to any terrain while maintaining full control and stability.

Oversized bearings: Many of our customers have complained about their shocks bearings not being up to the task of handling the forces they put them through. To solve this problem once and for all we have designed our Prerunner shocks with the biggest bearing in its class. As if that wasn't enough we only use premium quality bearings from the best manufacturer on the market, FK.  The bigger the bearing the better the forces are distributed over their surfaces supporting up to 39000lbs radial loads and increasing their service life upt o  150% when compared to our competition. For extreme or salty environments optional stainless steel bearings are available. All our FK bearings include the PTFE liner, so they will not only handle the hardest tasks but do so without squeaking or rattling.

ACV Valves: We take the ACV valves from 4x4 Proyect's 9200 racing series. This revolutionary and exclusive fixed piston sits on top of the external reservoir acting as a decelerometer and accelerometer. Its job is to increase oil pressure at high working speeds and reduce it at low shaft speeds thus allowing the shock to withstand extreme working conditions, even racing environments, while mantaining full comfort on any terrain. At the same time it reduces cavitation and thus shock fading lasting up to 60% longer under the same conditions. Last but not least the ACV valve delivers excellent bottom out protection on rough grounds and hard impacts.

Ultra hard piston rod: The choice of our impressive 22mm piston rods within our Prerunner shocks is based on multiple tests, many of them destructive. The final result is a hard chrome surface with up to 3 tenths depth covering a heavy duty induction hardening treatment of another 3mm. This gives the rod a hardness of 61 to 63 on the rockwell scale. That is much more than any piston rod will ever need, but better be save than sorry. As a matter of fact these same rods are used on 4x4 Proyect's 9300 racing series bypass shocks that are so respected in many races like the Baja.

Oversized external reservoir: Common belief is that big external reservoirs are used only to fit more oil and thus cool better. While this is not a wrong idea the most important task of a big reservoir is to increase the nitrogen capacity. reason being is that as the rod enters the shock on compression it displaces a volume equivalent to itself. Oil being incompressible it is the nitrogen that has to compress to accomodate for this change. The larger the nitrogen volume the lesser counterpressure it will generate making the shock smoother and more stable. According to thermodynamics a high change in pressure will resulte in a high change in temperature, thus reducing the pressure changes will reduce the shock's temperature and increase its resistance to fading. Therefore the best solution to increase performance is to fit a overszed reservoir with an extra high nitrogen capacity.

Redundant safety cap: The redundant safety cap keeps nitrogen in the shock even in the event of a valve failure. On top of that it provides excellent protection against flying stone and debris for the Schrader valve itself.
